Expert Plumbing for Renovations Big and Small

Remodeling is exciting until you open a wall and find corroded pipes, undersized supply lines, or drain configurations that won't support your new layout. That's where we come in.

At Old North Plumbing, we specialize in the plumbing side of home renovations — from simple fixture swaps to complete gut remodels that require rerouting supply and drain lines. We work alongside general contractors, kitchen and bath designers, and homeowners tackling DIY renovations who need a licensed plumber for the rough-in and final connections.

Whether you're updating a 1970s bathroom, adding a half-bath to your basement, or building a new master suite addition, we'll make sure the plumbing is done right and passes inspection.

Remodel & Addition Services

Kitchen Remodels

Kitchen plumbing often gets more complex than homeowners expect — especially when the sink moves to an island or you're adding a pot filler or prep sink.

  • Sink relocations (including island venting solutions)

  • Garbage disposal connections

  • Dishwasher supply and drain lines

  • Ice maker lines

  • Pot fillers and prep sink additions

  • Gas lines for ranges (where applicable)

Bathroom Remodels

Bathrooms are where most remodel plumbing happens. Moving a toilet, relocating a vanity, converting a tub to a walk-in shower — each requires modifying drain lines, supply lines, or both.

  • Drain relocation for new fixture layouts

  • Supply line rerouting (hot, cold, and shower valves)

  • Tub-to-shower conversions

  • Adding second sinks or double vanities

  • Vent tie-ins and code-compliant DWV modifications

  • Shower valve rough-in (standard, thermostatic, multi-head)

Room Additions

Building an addition with a new bathroom, wet bar, outdoor kitchen or kitchenette? We handle the complete plumbing scope.

  • Underground rough-in (for slab foundations)

  • Subfloor plumbing for crawlspace construction

  • Wall rough-in coordinated with framing

  • Final trim and fixture installatio

Laundry Room Additions & Upgrades

Adding a laundry room or moving your washer/dryer to a new location requires proper drain, supply, and vent connections.

  • Washing machine boxes (supply and drain)

  • Utility sink hookups

  • Drain line tie-ins with proper venting

  • Gas lines for dryers

How Remodel Plumbing Works

Remodel plumbing typically happens in two phases, with timing that depends on your overall project schedule.

Rough-In Phase

Once demo is complete and walls are open (or new walls are framed), we install supply lines, drain lines, and venting. This includes setting shower valves at the correct height, positioning drains for your specific fixtures, and tying into existing plumbing. We coordinate with your electrician and HVAC contractor to avoid conflicts. This phase ends with a rough-in inspection.

Trim-Out Phase

After drywall, tile, and paint are complete, we return to install the fixtures — faucets, toilets, showerheads, garbage disposals, and appliance connections. We test everything before we leave to make sure it's working properly and leak-free.
